Upload Guidelines

Welcome to the 3DTV community. In order to make this an enjoyable and safe community for everyone, you will need to follow some basic rules when uploading videos or images to the 3DTV site:

What you can't do:


  • Do not submit or upload any content that is private or that contains confidential information.
  • Do not upload any content that is harmful, embarrassing, hateful, or abusive.
  • Do not upload any content that is obscene, profane, vulgar, indecent or offensive. 3DTV is not the place to post sexually-explicit or pornographic videos (even if they feature you).
  • Do not upload violent or explicit videos on 3DTV or upload any content that is explicit or graphic in any way (whether of a sexual or violent nature or otherwise).
  • Do not upload any videos that contain mature content (such as alcohol or tobacco use, etc.) without using appropriate age restrictions.
  • Do not upload any content that shows you or others engaging in illegal activity or that encourages others to break the law.
  • Do not upload any content that violates the legal rights of others. For example, do not upload any content that was created by others or that is owned by others, unless you have their permission. Also, do not upload any content that violates others' privacy rights or rights of publicity.
  • Do not distribute spam, leave repeated messages or post repeated content.

What you can do:


  • Upload content on 3DTV that complies with the rules set forth above and our Terms of Use.
  • Actively participate in the 3DTV community. Post comments, give Props to others' videos, develop the content on your Channel, and work to attain "published" status for your Channel.
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you are unsure whether a video would violate someone's rights, err on the side of caution and do not post it on 3DTV.
  • Post only content that you are comfortable with becoming publicly available.
  • Help us monitor the 3DTV community. If you believe a video violates the rules set forth above or our Terms of Use, please let us know by flagging the video or photo.

Guidelines for Uploading

3DTV.com lets you convert 2 GB worth of videos and unlimited photos each month plus unlimited storage on your own personal channel. Come on and get started!

 
File Requirements
 

Once you’ve chosen a video or photo to upload, make sure it’s smaller than 2GB in size and less than 15 minutes in length. Acceptable formats include. AVI, FLV, MP4, M4V, MKV, MOV, OGM, WMV, WEBM, MPG, MPEG, M2V for videos; and BMP, JPG, JPEG and PNG for images. There are restrictions on some formats (e.g. WMV files need to be non-DRM protected, etc.). If in doubt, try it out. The system will let you know if there is an issue with the file. Keep in mind that non-video and non-image file formats will not be accepted (e.g. PPT, DOC, PDF, SWF, etc.)

 
To Upload Your Video or Photo
 

- Once you have a 3DTV.com account set up and you login to your account there are two places to start  an upload of your video or photo. You can either click the Upload link (denoted by an up arrow) in the navigation bar at the top of any 3DTV page or you can start an upload by clicking “Upload New” when you are viewing your channel.

- Click the Upload video or photo button to browse for the video or photo file you’d like to upload to our site. Select the file you want to upload and click “Open.”

- As your video or photo file is uploading, enter as much information about your content as possible in the relevant fields (including Title, Description, Tags, and Category). Make sure you choose if you want your videos and photos to be Public or Private. You’re not required to provide specific information, but the more information you include, the easier it is for other users to find your content!

- Click the “Save” changes button to save the updates you’ve made to the video or photo file.

- Do not leave or logout of 3DTV.com until your upload is complete, doing so will cause your upload to fail.

- Once your content is successfully uploaded and converted a notification will appear under your navigation bar and your video or photo will be ready to view.

- The 3DTV.com upload system allows you to upload your video or photo as you navigate the site, to check on the status of your upload simply hover over the upload arrow in the navigation bar at the top of any 3DTV page.

 
Important
 

Do not upload any TV shows, music videos, music concerts, or commercials without permission unless they consist entirely of content you created yourself. By clicking “Upload Video”, you are representing that this video does not violate 3DTV’s Terms & Conditions and that you own all copyrights in this video or have authorization to upload it. Separately, any content deemed inappropriate by 3DTV may be removed without warning.
