Some things are just too good to pass up, even if they seem rather unbelievable at first. We’ve seen 3D comic books, the Viewmaster, the stereograph, 3D movies in the 50s the 60s and 70s and the 80s, and of course the current explosion of 3D movies at the cinema and in your home via 3D Blu-ray.
What we haven’t seen yet is 3D clothing. That’s now changed, with an Australian company offering what it calls the 3D Ribs Dress. It’s a sleeveless dress that gives new meaning to the word skinny as a skeleton. When your favorite female friend dons this latest fashion accessory you can enjoy the results in anaglyph 3D. Not only that, the dress comes with 3D glasses to give out so your friends can have the treat of seeing you in all your bony glory.
The dress is $99 Australian, or about US$106. The dress is available from a company called Black Milk. It’s available in extra small, medium and large, and I note that the dresses sold out in the small size. I guess there are a lot of small women wearing this thing in Australia. What a comedown if 2 of them wound up at the same party or wound up on a bus together.
I guess this dress would be the perfect thing to wear to the 3D Star Wars movie, or perhaps it’s more suited for Halloween. Here’s a link to the Black Milk website, and if you have some anaglyph glasses handy you can enjoy the show.
