On March 2, or probably by the time you read this, The Lorax should be playing in your local theater in 3D. The film is based on a book written by Dr. Seuss and will follow the plot of a boy seeking adventure. Here is how IMDB describes the film's plot:
“A 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.”
You can watch the trailer for The Lorax HERE. It certainly appears the film will be colorful and capture the imagination of the Dr. Seuss book.
What I love about the Dr. Seuss books, and what appears present in the film, is the strange art style depicted in them. The houses seem to have curved or oddly-shaped roofs, chimneys and stair cases in the trailer – and this fits right in line with what to expect from Dr. Seuss books. The other aspect I like about this art style is the strange trees that look almost like candy. They are also clearly mentioned in the trailer.
What gets me most excited for the film, however, is that Danny DeVito will be doing the voice over for the creature known as “Lorax.” Danny DeVito has a great voice with a very funny edge to it.
I think the film will be a great 3D showing and the CGI effects look very impressive from the trailer and images released. You can check out more images on the film's website.
