Earlier this year at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, NV, Panasonic showed off its upcoming WT50 series of LCD TV sets. You can watch the demo given by Jack from Panasonic HERE on 3DTV.com.
The demo clearly shows off vibrant colors and a lot of clarity in the picture. Jack also mentioned that this series will be great for 3D fans because the TV sets will have very little crosstalk.
According to 3DReviewer, “When the LCD glasses are synchronised with an emitter inside the TV, they alternately darken one eye then the other so that each eye rapidly sees sequential images. When the LCD glasses aren’t in perfect synch with the 3DTV, one eye can see part of the image which should’ve been seen only by the other eye. This situation, where right- and left- images “overlap” gives rise to 'ghosting' where the composite 3D image is not perfect.”
Basically, this means that both images aren't correctly in sync with the user's glasses and the two images intersect each other to create an undesirable effect.
TrustedReviews, mentions more info about what to expect from the WT50 series that were showcased at CES by Jack.
These TV sets will be Edge LED supported, offer Smart Viera (Smart TV) functionality, have an optional trackpad remote, and use active 3D glasses.
According to TrustedReviews, “the WT50 is one of the best-looking LCD TVs we’ve seen to date - so much so that it finally allows Panasonic to challenge the aesthetic televisual glories offered by the likes of Samsung and LG.”
If you are looking for a new TV set and have some cash to spare this would be a great series to consider when they become available. No word on exact pricing or availability.
